Hi, I'm Jon Adair (also known as John Adair or Jonathan Adair). This page is primarily here so people can find and reconnect with me, so it is sort of awkward for a human to read.

You probably want to go on to my blog. See my LinkedIn profile, Myspace, or Facebook. I keep photos on Google, Flickr, and some on iStockPhoto.

If you want to email me but don't know my address, my email address is just my name (without an h in it, just like this domain) at gmail.com.

I'm a descendant of:

I lived in Enon, Ohio (near Dayton and Wright Patterson Air Force Base) in the mid and late 1970's. I went to Enon Elementary School and Indian Valley.

I moved to Brookside in Clearwater, Florida, with my parents, James and Mamie Adair, and my brother, Michael - Mike. I went to Belcher Elementary School (Mrs. Brewer), Oak Grove Junior High, and Pinellas Park High School aka PPHS in Largo, FL and graduated in the class of 1987. In high school, I was a semi-member of the Academic Team and played football.

I attended Georgia Institute of Technology off and on from 1987 to 1991. I originally majored in Chemical Engineering before switching to Computer Engineering. I lived in Armstrong, Freeman, and Montag dorms. I worked at the Georgia Tech Office of Computing Services - OCS and later the Office of Information Technology - OIT, as a User Assistant.

I finished my degree at USF - the University of South Florida. I graduated with a bachelor of science in Computer Science in 1993. I went on to work on my Master's and PhD in the Image Analysis and Recognition lab for Dr. Kevin Bowyer and Dr. Dmitry Goldgof. I left USF in 1997 to work full-time.

I've spent summers working for Hercules Defense Electronics in Largo, Florida and for Siemens Corporate Research Center in Princeton, New Jersey.

I was a software developer for Utility Partners for several years, working with and travelling to many customer accounts. In 1999 I started working for CommerceQuest (previously MessageQuest) as a Solution Architect or "heavy development" Sales Engineer (SE). I left CommerceQuest in 2000 and was an independant contractor for several years before returning to CommerceQuest in 2003 as a Senior Developer. CommerceQuest was acquired by Metastorm in 2005 and I am now a Product Specialist for Metastorm's Process Manager for Data (PM4Data) enterprise integration product, also known as Metastorm Integration Manager (MIM)

I've been involved a quite a few volunteer organizations. At USF, I represented the College of Engineering on the Student Government Senate and was particularly involved in the budget process. At USF, I served an officer in the Association of Computing Machinery - ACM and the USF Radio and Electronics Club.

I am a licensed amateur radio operator or ham, since 1996. My original call was KF4LFG until I finally upgraded to Amateur Extra in 2005 and received the callsign of AI4DG.

I have been a member and officer of the Tampa Bay Amateur Radio Society - TBARS and the Tampa Amateur Radio Club - TARC, which are now merged as just TARC. I have also been active in the combined Hillsborough County Amateur Radio Emergency Service - ARES and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service - RACES, often referred to as ARES/RACES, ARES-RACES, or just HCAR.

I have also been a volunteer for the Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross. I was a member of the Disaster Action Team - DAT, and eventually served as the DAT Coordinator for Hillsborough County for some time. I also became active in the Red Cross Disaster Services Human Resources - DSHR, as a Damage Assessment specialist.

I am a member of Van Dyke United Methodist Church in Lutz where I am active in children's ministry.
